9 of the Best Thrift Stores in New York
If there’s one post that has been requested here, it’s about vintage thrift stores in New York! I always show them on my Instagram (@marthasachser), but I’m finally putting them all in one post just for you!
Beacon’s Closet
A thrift store with clothing and accessories in good condition, it’s worth taking some time to browse if you want to find some famous designer pieces as well. They also buy and trade your items (you receive cash or store credit). Visit the official website HERE!
Ina
Bags, clothing, and accessories in great condition from well-known designers and brands. They have four locations, including a store dedicated to the male audience, but you can also shop online. Brands like Jimmy Choo, Dolce & Gabbana, and Fendi are some that you’ll find there. The store in the photos below is located in Nolita at 21 Prince Street, New York. See all the addresses HERE!
Auh2oshop
A vintage boutique located in the East Village with a cool selection of clothing at a very reasonable price, most items cost less than $25, and they have fixed racks with items for $5 and $10. It’s located at 84 East 7th Street between First and Second Avenues. Visit the official website HERE!
Crossroads Trading Company
The store is quite large, has a wide variety, and is great for finding items in good condition as well. They also sell and trade your items for store credit! Visit the official website HERE!
What Goes Around Comes Around
This one isn’t one of those cheap thrift stores. At What Goes Around Comes Around, you’ll find luxury vintage pieces! You can take a peek at their website too by clicking HERE! The store is located at 103 Wooster Street in SoHo.
Buffalo Exchange
A modern thrift store chain that keeps up with the changing seasons. At Buffalo Exchange, you can also sell and trade your items. There are several locations, and you’ll find clothing, accessories, and a good variety of shoes. Everything is in good condition and clean, prerequisites for those who want to donate or sell in the store. Visit the official website HERE!
The RealReal
The RealReal is famous worldwide for being a luxury consignment online store, but you can also find a physical store here in New York! Check out the store at 870 Madison Ave or visit the website HERE!
Vintage Thrift
With a truly vintage atmosphere, you’ll find clothing, bags, accessories, home decor items, books… The store, despite having a little bit of everything, is well-organized and has authentic vintage decoration. This store below is located at 286 Third Avenue, between 22nd & 23rd Streets. Visit the official website HERE!
Housing Works Thrift Shop and Bookstore
There are several Housing Works thrift shops throughout the city where they accept donations of clothing, books, home decor items, accessories, and more, and all the proceeds from the sales go towards providing housing and quality healthcare for people living with HIV/AIDS, as well as funding prevention efforts and other initiatives. This SoHo location is great because it combines two concepts: a thrift shop and a used bookstore, and even a cafe for you to enjoy your reading even more! Everything is clean and in good condition, worth checking out! I’ve found some really cool things there. It’s located at 130 Crosby Street, New York, NY. Visit the official website and check out the other locations HERE!
Goodwill
Another well-known chain in the US, you can find everything there: clothing, furniture, home decor items, and much more. There are several locations throughout the country, including in New York. It’s not common to find expensive items there, and not everything is always in great condition, but it’s worth a visit for those looking for a more affordable option, as this chain is usually good.
