The Best Hotels in Long Island City – Queens
One of the questions I get asked all the time is: Is it a good idea to stay in Queens instead of Manhattan? First of all, Queens is huge, so you need to know where in Queens. But when people mention that, they usually mean Long Island City, this neighborhood in Queens that is super close to Midtown Manhattan.
I know it’s hard to choose the perfect hotel and location so you will find some options below with some of my top 10 hotels taking into consideration how close they are to Manhattan, how close they are to the subway and overall comfort and amenities.
Advantages of staying in Long Island City in Queens: more for your bucket. The rooms are usually newer or/and more spacious if you compare the rates between Manhattan and Queens. Or some might offer breakfast or gym… Another advantage: this area in Queens is super close to Manhattan and different subway lines run in the area. Which means you can get to Midtown Manhattan (Grand Central Terminal Lexington and 59th, Times Square) in about 5-15 minutes.
