8 restaurants with the best views of NYC!
Many people have this expectation that NYC is chaotic, that is noisy and crowded…and to be honest some parts really are but today I’m bringing some of my favorite places in NYC to disconnect from the craziness and enjoy the view, literally!

230 Fifth
One of the few rooftops in NYC that allow children to go up at certain times (more specifically on weekends during brunch hours). The view is one of my favorites in NYC, the food not the best, but still worth it! Besides brunch you can always come up for drinks and to enjoy their indoor lounge, perfect for parties and that night club vibe with gorgeous views of the city and of course, the Empire State Building!

Asiate
They say that special occasions ask for special restaurants ( they say that, don’t they?!) but I can’t help it, Asiate is one of those places that I wanna go actually every day. Firts of all: the view! The city+ Central Park +Columbus Circle= perfection. Second: it is located at the Mandarim Oriental Hotel, one of my favorite hotel chains in the world and third: well, the chef was the nicest accommodating my requests for vegan options and it was the best! They have a huge wine selection as well. Asiate is a great option for a perfect date night and Sunday brunch! Yes, it is more expansive if compared to other listed here but the experience is different, a bit fancier but still somewhat casual.
Address: 80 Columbus Cir, New York, NY 10023

City Vineyard
To escape the crowds of rooftops, I recommend heading west to Pier 26 and enjoying the sunset at City Vineyard, by the Hudson River. There are different spaces (indoor/outdoor/roof deck), the last one is perfect for a happy hour or lunch! Speaking of happy hour: 3 – 6 pm | Monday – Friday you can enjoy some of these items:
$10 tap wine, $7 Draft Beer & House Lager, $1 Oysters, $10 Cocktail Specials: Barrel-Aged Old Fashioned & Mezcal Margaritas. Enjoy!
Address: 233 West St, New York, NY 10013

The River Cafe
Considered one of the most romantic restaurants in NYC, The River Cafe has the perfect skyline view and great food. You need to make a reservation and follow the dress code: “Jackets are required for gentlemen at dinner. Ties are preferred. Weekend Lunch and Brunch at The River Café can be slightly casual, but too casual is never allowed.” And after a delicious dinner you can explore the streets of DUMBO and the views of Manhattan and even catch the NYC Ferry back to the city!
Address: 1 Water St, Brooklyn, NY 11201

Cecconi’s – Dumbo
Italian- American cuisine with a view? I’m in! Located in Brooklyn by the East River and with gorgeous views of Manhattan Bridge, this is my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn.
Their menu includes pizza, sea food, pasta, salads… Expect to spend U$25 per main dish (can be less or more). And the wait is usually really long on weekends, I highly recommend making a reservation!
Address: 55 Water St, Brooklyn, NY 11201

Robert
Located on the ninth floor of the Museum of Arts and Design, Robert is a great modern American restaurant with breathtaking views of Central Park and Columbus Circle (it is almost across the street from Asiate). Serving lunch, brunch and dinner, I recommend making a reservation if you want a nice seat by the windows.
Address: 2 Columbus Cir, New York, NY 10019

Boat Basin Cafe
Now this one offers a more casual vibe, it’s literally a bar by the Hudson River in the Upper West Side neighborhood where many locals hang out at the end of the day with their friends and families. But of course tourists learned about it (those NYC bloggers…haha) and now the line is usually longer on weekends and late afternoon. The food is not the best, it’s far from it in my opinion BUT the view! Appetizers are usually between U$5 and U$9 and sandwiches between U$12 and U$17. It doesn’t open in the winter and colder months, so check the official website for hours of operation.
Address: W 79th St, New York, NY 10024, EUA.

The Loeb Boathouse – Central Park
And of course this one had to be here! Central Park is a must see in NYC and if you are looking for a dining experience with a nice view, I recommend this one. I do love the Tavern on The Green as well but no much of a view there. To be honest, there isn’t a great view but the atmosphere and having Central Park right there is somehow special! I recommend making a reservation especially for weekends!
Address: Park Drive North, E 72nd St, New York, NY 10021, EUA.
