Franchia Vegan Cafe
Forget everything you think you know about vegan food! The Franchia Vegan Cafe brings the best of Asian cuisine in delicious dishes, full of flavor and beautifully presented. It was hard to choose what to order, I felt like the options were endless so I trusted our waiter who came up with incredible dishes! Some of them were the Spicy Vegan ‘Buffalo’ Wings, Peking Buns, Javanese Noodles Goreng and Crispy Eggplant in Spicy Sauce. And of course I photographed everything to share with you! The atmosphere is super nice, very quiet and perfect for a dinner with friends or even a date. I also enjoyed the service, everyone was really helpful and kind. To check the menu, click here! They also have plenty of gluten free, drinks, teas, tapas and amazing vegan sushi options plus a pre fixe menu ($ 35 per person)! The Franchia is located at 12 Park Ave (between 34th and 35th streets).
Candle 79
Frequented by locals, celebrities, politicians and curious meat eaters, the history of the restaurant started back in 1984 and today is recognized worldwide as one of the best vegetarian and vegan restaurants out there. And there is no doubt about it, with the mission to bring flavor and quality, Candle 79 is the right restaurant for those who want a little more of a sophisticated vibe, a creative presentation and organic products, free of animal cruelty. It’s hard to choose what to order first! The options for gluten-free dishes are also quite good and the prices although not very popular, are not above the normal you would pay in any upscale restaurant (click here to see the menu). On their official website you can check the hours of operation for lunch and dinner. The Candle 79 is located at 154 East 79th Street at Lexington Avenue, New York, NY.
Peacefood Cafe
The other day I had lunch with Juliana at Peacefood Cafe, a vegan kitchen and bakery by Union Square. They have another location in Uptown as well! And wow, this place is paradise for vegan food! You will find on the menu everything from cookies to soups, vegan and delicious! If you are not sure what to order first, take note of everything you see on this post: pan-seared shangai-style dumplings (my favorite!), chickpea fries, vegan cheese burger, roasted japanese pumpkin and unchicken basket with chipotle and house dressing (also my favorite). I left with no room to try the cookies and cheesecakes, So clearly I can’t wait to go back and try them all! To drink, we had green lemonade and fresh squeezed gingerade. Prices were great, it’s definitely one of those vegan places that you can invite all your friends, try a lot of things dishes and not “break the bank”. I just loved everything about Peacefood Cafe, the vibe, the service and of course, everything we ate there, seriously, I have a list of items to try next time, so join me and take a look on their menu HERE!! The Peacefood Cafe is located at the address 41 east 11th street, really close to Union Square! Enjoy!

Terri
Prices are pretty good and unfortunately we had no room left for dessert, but I photographed some of the options you will find there! The brownies, cookies and cupcakes looked sooo good, I guess I will have to go back asap to try!
Another thing I noticed it was how nice the staff is and reading more on the site I saw that this is one of the company goals, everyone there is family. Terri – which was founded by two longtime friends with experience in management and vegan restaurants – has now 3 locations in New York, one in Chelsea, one in Midtown and one in the Wall Street area. The one I went to is located at 685 3rd Avenue, near Grand Central. They also delivery and offer catering services, so cheers to another healthy and cruelty free option in New York that you will love! Click HERE to check their website and menu! See you next time!
