Where to stay in Tokyo: The Aoyama Grand Hotel

Where to stay in Tokyo? When planning a trip to Tokyo it’s hard to find the perfect hotel, there are so many options, it is a huge city and for sure, it can be overwhelming. There are also different types of accommodation, from capsule hotels to hostels but if you are looking for hotel and a more comfortable experience that will help you recharge at the end of a very busy day in Tokyo, this post is for you!

This was my fourth time in Japan and it was probably the most special because this time we traveled with our little one, my daughter Serena. And to make this trip even more special and as stress-free as possible, we stayed at the beautiful Aoyama Grand Hotel and I couldn’t wait to share our experience with you. Finding a hotel with spacious rooms and bathrooms can be a challenge and when you are traveling with little kids and what felt like 20 thousand pieces of luggage, space and comfort makes a huge difference. And The Aoyama Grand Hotel offers both and much more.

Location:

The hotel is located in the Minato neighborhood, close to Omotesando, Harajuku and Shibuya, some of my favorite places in Tokyo and the ones you can’t miss, specially if this is your first trip to Japan. The subway station is super close to the hotel, about 3 minutes walking. At this hotel you stay in the center of Tokyo but without the buzz of super crowded areas like Shibuya-crossing. You can see the distance from the airport and other information here!

Hospitality:

Is 10 stars a thing? We felt so welcome and taken care of during our stay, I can’t recommend it enough. The service at the hotel’s restaurants were also great. The room (Deluxe twin room) had everything we needed and even complimentary mini bar with a variety of snacks and drinks. We needed to drop off our luggage before check-in and they not only can store them but they even took them to our room! These small details make a big difference.

Dining:

There are currently 6 dining experiences in the hotel including one rooftop bar. We were lucky enough to dine in two of them: The Belcomo, for dinner (they also serve breakfast, lunch and there is also a bar) and the Rossi for breakfast.

Rossi offers two options for breakfast: western buffet or traditional Japanese style breakfast. But the buffet also comes with some traditional options, like fish, rice and even curry. You also get to choose an entree and everything costs about U$50 per person, which is actually a good deal considering the selection and variety of food, quality, the beautiful view and service. If you are looking for a good vegan friendly hotel in Tokyo, I highly recommend The Aoyama Grand Hotel, in both restaurants they served vegan options.

The Belcomo was the perfect dinner experience and they can accomodate families with small children. The food was excellent, the menu had great options with something for everyone, I got the vegan options but they also made me pasta and veggies that wasn’t on the regular menu and was sooooo good! Ryu got the Gai Yang – Thai Grilled Chicken, mashed potatoes and cheesecake and he said both were really delicious. Both Rossi and The Belcomo were incredible and they are open to the public, I highly recommend making a reservation.

The room:

Hotels in Japan aren’t always spacious but this isn’t the case here. We were traveling with a little one so space is very important and The Aoyama Grand Hotel didn’t disappoint.

The bathroom was massive and after a long day walking around Tokyo, you will appreciate it even more! Our room was the Deluxe Twin.

I also loooved the view from our room and the floor to ceiling window. I could stare at the Tokyo tower all night!

Overall, we had the best time at The Aoyama Grand Hotel. You can check all rooms and everything this amazing hotel has to offer here!

I was hosted by the hotel but all opinions are mine and I can’t recommend it enough! Thank you for making us feel welcome.
