Where to stay in Vancouver – JW Marriott Vancouver – Hotel Review
Bonjour! If you follow me on Instagram you might know that I recently came back from Vancouver, a place that has been on my mind for years! Unfortunately I only had less than two days to explore one of Canada’s largest and most beautiful cities. 2 days are not enough for sure but choosing the right hotel was very important to make the most of our time. After a quick research I found JW Marriott Vancouver located in downtown and by the water, near many of the main Vancouver attractions on my list!
The hotel:
When I travel I always check the hotel’s amenities, even if it is just a short stay, I make sure to take advantage of swimmings pools and fitness rooms to recharge and relax! At the JW Marriott you will find the best amenities, dining experiences, comfort, location (steps from the heart of Yaletown district) and great staff and service! You can’t help but feel spoiled at JW Marriott, from the smooth check-in to all the local tips given to me by the attentive and kind staff, my stay in Vancouver was better than I imagined!
If you are taking the sky train from the airport or want to explore the city using their great public system, the hotel is located less than 10 minutes from Yaletown station and you can get to the airport in about 30 minutes. There is also a free hotel shuttle that can drop you off in different parts of the city, including the train station. There are many of the main attractions within less than two miles from the hotel. The JW Marriott is located in the hub of Parq Vancouver and offers easy access to five onsite restaurants and lounges. There is also a spa, fitness room, executive lounge, jacuzzi, rooftop and casino!
Our room:
We had the double bed room for extra comfort. The beds were super comfortable, perfect to recharge after a long day walking around. The room decor was clean and welcoming, there were USB ports on both sides, which is always helpful, especially when you forget your iPhone adapter!
The natural light coming through the floor to ceiling window was gorgeous and needless to say, a great way to wake up to! Also, we had a beautiful view of the harbor! Make sure to request that if possible, it is worth it!
The beautiful marble washroom included Molton Brown body care products and other toiletries. There were towels but also a bath robe, which of course was my uniform for the day – and a great prop for pictures haha! Everything was super clean and neat and there was enough space for all my belongings.
Outdoors!
Jacuzzi and gorgeous city views! It was the perfect way to end the day! Outside the fitness center there is a spa poo (jacuzzi), not so big but we were lucky that there weren’t many people when we got there! I always find it magical to see the city coming to life at night and the view didn’t disappoint! There is also a rooftop but bummer, I didn’t have the chance to check it out!
Executive lounge:
We had the opportunity to explore the Executive Lounge, which includes the service of breakfast, snacks/lunch and several drinks for an extra free throughout the day. But you can also order room service 24/7 or the breakfast option for 30.00 CAD. I’m vegan and was very pleased with all the vegan options they had, including almond milk, fruits, roasted potatoes and mushrooms, bagels, etc.
The space was modern, quiet and the staff extremely attentive. I had a great experience and highly recommend it if you have the chance to include that in your stay.
The fitness center is open 24 hours and it is without a doubt one of the largest I’ve ever been to. With beautiful views of the city, you can explore different machines and tools for a complete work-out and training.
Thank you for having me JW Marriott, I had a great time and can’t wait to go back to Vancouver! For more information make sure to check the hotel’s website HERE and Instagram!
