Staycation in NYC – Our stay at the Williamsburg Hotel

Even though I’ve been living in NYC for 10 years, I believe I will forever  feel like a tourist here. I’m always amazed by this beautiful city and all It has to offer.  But packing my bag for a weekend away in Brooklyn was a whole new level! Ryu and I took a much needed break from home after quarantining for 4 and a half months and a not so easy first trimester of pregnancy. So we headed to The Williamsburg Hotel for almost two days of beautiful views, great food, comfortable bed and my favorite part: a swimming pool! And I was actually  surprised to see so many people there on a staycation as well.

I’m back home and ready to share my experience “traveling” to Brooklyn and enjoying the beauty of a staycation: smaller bags, no airport security and all that not-so-fun logistic that comes with vacationing outside our hometown.

One of my favorite things about the hotel: THE VIEW! You guys know how obsessed I am with Manhattan’s skyline so seeing it from my own room, was magical! Even better at night (check my HOTELS highlight on instagram)! And it can get even better when you get to the rooftop, where the pool is located. There is something special and liberating in swimming with Manhattan right there, facing you.

The pool bar was open but the famous rooftop bar ( The Water Tower) is still closed temporarily. Make sure to keep up with The Williamsburg Hotel website and social media for updates, so you can learn when it will be open to the public again.

Our room was located on the 8th floor. The decor is modern, the bed was very comfortable and there was even a balcony so we could see Manhattan from the comfort of our room. It was just great to relax and enjoy the time with Ryu in a different atmosphere! I love Brooklyn and the hotel is located in a great area, near many points of interest and it can be easily reached by subway or ferry. Overall we had a great time and I was able to have brunch and catch up with one of my friends who lives nearby after 5 months.  If you are looking for a great staycation in New York City, make sure to check The Williamsburg Hotel!
