One of the best ways to visit all the paid attractions in NYC is buying a discount pass such as CityPass, Sightseeing Pass and New York Pass. They offer a lot of attractions with a great discount, so after using the pass a few times the attractions are basically free.
Big Daddy’s
Retro vibes and fun decor at Big Daddy’s, an american diner serving all the good stuff that kids like! And I mean milkshakes, pancakes, sandwiches, fries, etc, etc… Click HERE to see the official website and locations. This one is located at 2454 Broadway, New York.
American Girl
More than a mega store, a mega cafe! You can now get brunch, lunch or even dinner with the kids at one of the littles ones’ favorite store! Click HERE to see the menu! The American Girl Store is located at 75 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10017.
Alice’s Tea Cup
Afternoon tea anyone? I love stopping by Alice’s Tea Cup for a few reasons: its somewhat magical. The decor is lovely, you feel disconnected from the outside world, so great for recharging your energy level and it is a popular after school destination! Kids love Alice’s Tea Cup as much as I do plus, there are vegan options on the menu and the food is good. There are 3 locations in NYC but my favorite is the one at 156 East 64th Street, New York!
ELLEN’S STARDUST
There are many family friendly restaurants in NYC but this is one of my favorites to take my family. You might have heard of it before, this is where the servers perform all day long many of my favorite Broadway songs or the latest pop tunes. It’s fun, you can sing along and there is something for everyone on the menu. The food is not the best, but for the experience, I think its okay. Try to stick with the basic if you can (like waffle fries, nachos, burgers…), if you go on the healthier side, you might be disappointed (at least I was with salads and soups). It is located at 1650 Broadway, New York, NY
DAVE AND BUSTERS
So this is how it works: you get a card, add the desired amount, kids play and have a great time and collect tickets for each time they play. At the end you can exchange for some prizes at the store. If you’re feeling hungry, there is a restaurant serving some of the classic American favorites like sandwiches, fries, etc, great option for the family… Dave and Busters is located in Times Square at 234 W 42nd St, New York, NY, on the third floor.
Black Tap
This one is a hot spot on instagram so expect lines. But what can you do when the most creative milkshakes are made in NYC and come with a menu of amazing burgers to choose from? Kids and adults love their (very sweet) milkshakes and they are big enough to share and cost U$15 each. Classic shakes are U$9. They also serve other great options, click HERE to see the menu and prices.

Serendipity
It’s all about the frozen hot chocolate. No big deal in my opinion, it is good but I wouldn’t wait in line for too long. But the environment and the general store in the front are pretty interesting, the decor is cute and kids tend to like it! Oh yeah, and get the frozen hot chocolate. Address: 225 East 60th Street, New York, NY.
Carmine’s
Family size dishes in a loud and casual environment in the heart of Times Square. Not the best italian food in town but it is good and prices are reasonable if you’re sharing with more than one person. There is another location uptown but the midtown one is located at 200 W 44th St, New York, NY.
Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood
In general, the majority of all restaurants in Times Square are kid friendly. Some of the popular ones also include Hard Rock Cafe for music lovers and Planet Hollywood for movies and TV series fans.
