Who wants to come to New York and see how the locals live, go to the trendy  bars and restaurants that they go and stay away from the cliché?  So this post is for you! I selected 5 places in the Lower East Side, one of the coolest areas and a perfect place to meet the young and lively crowd of NY! I recommend stopping by on a Friday or Saturday, it is obviously even more vibrant! Souvlaki Greek

White walls, blue windows and beautiful decor. It’s impossible to walk by the Souvlaki GR and not come inside to check it out. It’ is without a doubt a piece of Mykonos in NY and this Lower East Side location is adorable! So if you enjoy authentic greek cuisine, make sure to stop by! They have vegetarian and vegan options, so it was easy for me to have a good time! The restaurant is located at 116 Stanton St, New York, NY 10002.

You will be surprised how you can turn a Saturday lazy afternoon into a Friday night in a second! Make sure to call before you go to make reservations. The Sons of Essex is located at 133 Essex St New York, NY 10002!

Pianos e  Arlene’s Grocery

If you are over 21 and enjoy live music, already known and upcoming bands, you need to go to Arlene’s Grocery and Pianos! Every day the coolest NY music lovers meet there. These bars are nice to discover new musical talents and for those who dream about performing in NYC, a quick fact: Lana Del Rey performed at Arlene’s Grocery in 2009!

Arlene’s Grocery: Live music at its best and it is also good for those who enjoy a drink in a happy and relaxed vibe and don’t want to pay a lot for it, they don’t charge cover if you sit at the front bar! They also have a rock-and -roll karaoke where you  can take the stage with a live band playing in the background! Amazing yes or yes?! Ah! They don’t serve food but the vibe is so cool that you can take what you want or have it delivered there! It is located at 95 Stanton Street. Check out the official site HERE with the schedule of all coming shows!

Pianos: At Pianos you will find food and drinks like burgers, fries, nachos, salads, buffalo wings … And music, of course! They play a little bit of everything: pop, folk pop , rock …and there is also a DJ! The cover is between $ 8- $ 10. It is located at 158 Ludlow St., New York, NY 10002. Click HERE to check out the official website and the calendar.
