Zebu Grill
I invited Ryu to a Brazilian dinner at Zebu Grill, located on the Upper East Side. It was my first time there but some friends recommended me before so I was excited to try. The place has a rustic and cozy atmosphere and of course, a Brazilian vibe, with great music and friendly service. The good news is that they are offering a prix fixe menu, with appetizer, main course and dessert for only $25, and is so worth it! And make sure you order pastel (a type of empanada) and fried yuca, some of my favorite Brazilian appetizers. Since I’m vegetarian it is always nice to go to a Brazilian restaurant that offers me options so I had a the delicious moranga recheada, but you won’t go wrong with the classic rice and beans -and fries. If you are a meat eater, you have plenty to chose from. From seafood to stake, to shrimp stew.Ryu had crab cake and bacalhau (codfish), which he really liked. And leave some room for Brazil’s most loved desert: caramel flan. No, it’s nothing like the regular flans, you must try it! I also really enjoyed the passion fruitcrème brûlée with banana. Very light and delicious. Zebu Grill is located at: 305 E 92nd St, New York, NY 10128.
Rossini’s
This Italian restaurant stole my heart! We literally googled “romantic restaurants in NYC” and this was one of the places listed. From the outside it seemed small and simple but once you go to the dining room in the back you will be surprised, it’s pretty big! I loved everything about it, the family atmosphere, the great service and the food and I will definitely come back the next day for more! On Saturdays I was informed that they offer an opera night with sopranos, to make your dining experience even better! Can’t wait to go back! The Rossini’s is located at: 108 E 38th St, New York, NY 10016. To check their official website, click HERE!
Semsom Eatary
I was invited to try the famous mediterranean bowls and wraps at Semsom Eatary, located on the Lower East Side, one of my favorite areas of New York! It’s a bit different from a traditional restaurants, you pick the ingredients to create your unique dish. The best part? Everything seemed so healthy and delicious that it was tough to decide. Since I was pretty lost in the process, they recommended me what was good with what and the result was great! Make sure to order some juices and dessert too, the options seemed pretty good! Everything there tasted fresh and healthy, so I can’t wait to go back! I also liked the environment, cool and quiet, ideal for a lunch to catch up with friends. I loved the menu choices and I was happy to know that vegetarian or vegan will be happy, there are different and tasty options for both. The Semsom Eatary is located at 2 Astor Pl, New York, NY.
