Places to go to this weekend in New York

The weekend is almost here. Well, it may not be that close, it’s Wednesday, so we’re halfway there… but I’m already setting the mood for it! We could always use a change and do something easy, I’m thinking about updating this column on Wednesdays instead of Thursdays, that way you’ll have more time to check the city’s schedule for the whole year (with the best concerts, festivals and attractions), clicking HERE. For more on NYC, my instagram is @marthasachser, my snapchat is marthanewyork and my youtube can be found HERE. See you next time!

Nighthawk – the most amazing movie theater!

Nighthawk has a totally different vibe from any movie theaters you might have been to. To begin with, it’s in Williamburg, how cool? Besides being able to check “less obvious” movies that are being shown in every movie theater, before the movie starts you can have some fun at a local bar, with beverages and snacks. But wait… It gets better. You can actually have a meal there (not only movie-theater junk food) during the movie and everything is way better! Sometimes there’s even special dishes based on the movie being shown! Try to get there at least half an hour before the movie so you can get used to the environment and get a nice seat. You know, better safe than sorry. The tickets cost $11 dollars + whatever you’re having. To check the list of movies being shown this weekend the link is HERE and the Nighthawk is at 136 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11249

Dinner or brunch at Olio e Piú

This trattoria has a super cool environment, an amazing menu (with everything the Italian cuisine has to offer), but there’s a special touch to it: my gnocchi with white sauce and gorgonzola had dates in its recipe! Way different from all I’d tried and super tasty! The roasted crafted pizzas in the traditional brick oven are just one of the popular dishes on the menu. The portions are all very big, so we didn’t have dessert. (we super recommend their chocolate cake though). The prices are pretty reasonable. Olio e Piu is ideal for those who want to get out of their touristic route for a brunch, lunch or dinner. Actually, for dinner I thought the place was super pleasant, even a little classy! But it kept the informality of the Italian cuisine! Olio e Piu is at 3 Greenwich Avenue, New York, NY and you can book a table at the number (212) 243-6546. To check the menu, click HERE. I hope you like it and buon appetito!
