Hawaii: Visiting the Iao Valley State Park
Maui is one of my favorite island of Hawaii. I could spend hours talking about our amazing experience exploring every corner of the island and all the places that weren’t originally on the itinerary but ended up there and made everything even more special! One of those places that I will never forget was the Iao Valley State Park, located in central Maui, a few minutes away from our hostel! That’s where the iconic Iao Needle (Kūkaemoku) is located, a 1,200 feet (370 m) from the valley floor or 2,250 feet when measured from sea level “monument”! Besides the gorgeous views you will see, the park is a peaceful escape from everyone who enjoys hiking, running and even swimming, the kids were having a blast in the water! If you are going to Maui, make sure to check my TOP 5 things to do there, you won’t regret! I love Maui and I can’t wait to go back and experience all this again!
