#LifeInNY: Finding Healthy Snacks in NYC!

The other day I received an e-mail from one of my followers asking about healthy and gluten free snacks that she could easily find here in New York. One of the best options for anyone looking for organic, gluten free or in case of food restriction, Whole Foods market is the place to go! It is my favorite one in the world. I was there just yesterday for lunch and I always leave feeling good about myself, you can’t go wrong with delicious and healthy foods. For a quick lunch and dinner or easy to grab food, Fresh & Co is another one that I LOVE! But sometimes there isn’t one around so an alternative would be the good and old drug store! Yes, CVS, Rite Aid and Duane Reade are everywhere and you can sure find some guilt free snacks! Here are some of the ones I found:

The traditional bars are a good source of protein, fiber and help when you’re craving something sweet. There are options for everyone and the prices vary between $2-$4 per bar. I looove the Gluten Free Bar brand, they have some delicious peanut butter bites and coconut to die for. And as you can see, most of the ones here are gluten, milk and soy free. Delish!

I love veggie chips like those from TERRA! You know when you’re craving junk food but you know that you shouldn’t? These chips are a great alternative. You can even add some hummus or guacamole for extra flavor!

Same thing with tortilla chips, I found these made with organic whole grains and sweet potato. A good alternative for Doritos?! YESSS! And I’m crazy about the veggie straws, whenever on the road, they are always around and everyone loves them!

Pretzels with hummus in travel size is to die for! I love this one from Sabra and it’s usually $2.50 per cup and fills you up. You can also find a variety of nuts and dried fruits. For those looking for extra fiber, granola bags can be found in different flavors and sizes!
