Grilled Corn at Café Habana
Yes folks, it is good. This mexican style grilled corn will steal your feart! OK, it’s nothing out of this world, but it is very, very, veeery yummy! It has a different flavor than I’m used to growing up in Brazil and it’s one of those places that I go back over and over again! Two grilled corns cost $ 7.75. Ah! If the line is long, you can take it to go right next door! Café Habana is located at the address 17 Prince Street, New York, NY and there is another location in Brooklyn.
Eileen’s Special Cheesecake
The size is not as devastating so you can eat without feeling too guilty about it but the hardest part is choose which one to eat first. The best seller is the salted caramel and it is delish! The cheesecakes cost $ 3.75 each. The price is okay for the size and the variety of flavors you find on the menu. Not to mention that it is located in one of the coolest parts of SoHo, so is worth the ride! Another very tasty option? Junior’s Cheesecake!

Wafels and Dinges
One of the greatest gastronomic tortures in NYC is to walk by one of Wafels and Dinges food trucks. The traditional Belgian waffle in the heart of New York will make anyone forget about diet! Prices range from $ 6 to $ 9 and they also have savory and milkshakes options. My favorite truck is the one by Central Park on 5th Avenue, but you can check out the stores at 209 E 2nd St, New York, NY and 15 Avenue B, New York, NY. For something in the same style and taste, Max Brenner is also one of my favorites! I have spoken more about in this post HERE!
Titanic at Carmine’s
Carmine’s in Times Square is one of Brazilian’ favorite restaurantes for family style pasta! But I confess that my new passion is their dessert, the famous TITANIC! Guys … what was that ???? !!! From the pictures you can’t really see but the dish is huuge, we had to split it between 5 people! Ice cream, fruit, chocolate, nuts… can’t go wrong! I almost needed a crane to get me up from the chair. Thumbs up!
Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog
You think hot dog, you think NY! Hundreds of hot dog carts are scattered around the entire city. One of the most traditional and tasty ones you will find at Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs. You can find it in different places and food trucks around the city but the most traditional one is in Coney Island, the famous NYC beach. In the summer the lines are long but it’s perfect to take it to go and sit by the beach. Another tasty and cheap option? Try Papaya King and Gray’s Papaya!

Rainbow Bagel from The Bagel Store
I’m sure you heard about it before! I went to Williamsburg to check the famous rainbow bagel at The Bagel Store and I’m so glad I did! I had the traditional rainbow with funfetti filling (cream cheese with colored sprinkles). It costed almost $ 6, a bit on the pricey side but so worth it. They also have countless cream cheeese and Nutella fillings, so I’ll be going back asap! The Bagel Store is located at the address 349 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. Want more bagels? In this post HERE I mentioned my favorite ones!

Other cupcakes places to try: Georgetown Cupcakes, Sweet Cupcake Bakeshop, Two Red Hens, Magnolia Bakery (cuz you know, if Carried Bradshaw ate it, we have to…#notreally).
“Spider Man Pizza” at Joe’s Pizza
Joe’s Pizza, founded in 1975 by Italian Joe Pozzuoli is a place that attracts tourists from all over the world. Andit’s not only for the pizza, which itself is delicious and served in traditional NY style (you can only buy the piece) or pie, but the buzz is also due to the fact that the store was one of the locations used in the first Spiderman movie. You will also see many photos of celebrities who have passed by to try the famous pizzas! Prices range between $ 2.75 and $ 3.50 a slice. Cash only. Banana Pudding at Magnolia Bakery
I know that their cupcakes are superfamous but to be honest my favorite treat at Magonolia Bakery has to be the banana pudding (a pudding / banana cream) which just got a chocolate version! Yes folks, what was good, just got better! The small one is $ 3.50 and $ 6.50 for the bigger size.
Pastrami Sandwich at Katz Delicatessen
The first pastrami sandwich was made in 1887 and became a NY icon ever since. It became world famous for appearing in the film When Harry Met Sally, and the line on weekends can be absurd! The specialty of the house is made by hand with prime beef, spices and prepared in a special way, certainly worth the wait! The traditional sandwich costs $ 19.95. On the menu you will also find bagels, omelets, salads and other sandwiches. Katz Delicatessen is located at 205 East Houston Street, NY 10002. Click HERE for their official website! Shakes at Black Tap
Black Tap offers delicious burgers on the menu (click here to see more!), but what everyone is talking about is their insane milkshakes! I ordered the chocolate chip cookie one, very tasty and not too sweet as I thought it would be. It’s truly a piece of art, which explains the price ($15), but so worth it. The Black Tap is located at 529 Broome St, New York, NY 10013 SoHo and 248 W. 14th Street in the Meatpacking District. The official site is this one HERE!
Chocolate Chip Walnut cookie at Levain Bakery
If there was a prize for the most famous and desired cookie of New York, it would be given to Levain Bakery. I had the famous chocolate chip walnut and dark chocolate peanut butter chip and I approved! The cookies are big and cost $ 4 each. Make sure it’s warm, so the chocolate will melt in a perfect way! The Levain Bakery is located at the address 67 W 74th St, New York, NY 10023.
Cronut
A donut made of croissant dough is one of chef Dominique Ansel’s creations at Dominique Ansel Bakery. Get there earlier for e fresher cronut, they are the most popular item on the menu and if you go later on the day you might not find it. 189 Spring Street, New York.
